The Home Run Reading Program, brought to us by the Eugene Emeralds, is in full swing! How It Works: Grab your Sluggo Reading Challenge bookmark and write down 10 books you’ve read. Once it's filled, turn it in by March 21st. All participating K-6th grade students will be invited to a special night at the ballpark on June 18th with the Eugene Emeralds! Smokey Bear Visits Our Classrooms! Our 1st and 4th graders had a special visit from Smokey Bear and the Oregon Department of Forestry. Our first graders met Smokey in person and learned important fire safety tips and one of our fourth graders got to dress up in real firefighting gear. All of the students also got to learn about fire safety. We are lucky to have ODF offering this wonderful educational experience.
